Jason Whiton is an award-winning writer, artist, and educator. His work
as a screenwriter and filmmaker has been recognized by the
Nicholl Fellowships (Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences), PBS, and major film
festivals. Jason is the creator of Spy Vibe and his publications
include Rolling Stone, USA Weekend, Arcana Comics, and the book, Mort
Walker Conversations.
Jason lived in northern Japan and Japanese culture has inspired
many of his projects, including the films I Was A Dancer, The Sun is Down, and the screenplay, The Bonsai. Whiton enjoys songwriting, electronic composition, and playing blues guitar. He taught art for seventeen years at The Putney School in Vermont before moving to teach at Drew School in San Francisco in 2008. He loves to spend his time creating projects and collaborations, and helping young people to explore their lives as artists. More information on the Web page.
